Pay Increase for Long Haul

I’m proud to say that Summerford has always been a family company that believes in family and supports our drivers need for more home time. We do our best to get all drivers home as often as possible- every weekend if we can. But with cross country loads, it’s just not always possible and we find ourselves in need of more long haul/OTR drivers.

After a lot of thought, we’ve decided the best thing we can do is to REWARD long haul drivers! So beginning with any emptied loads May 1, 2018 or after, we are going to SHOW YOU THE MONEY! We are increasing the pay rate per mile by $.06 for all long haul/OTR drivers! This is for any current OTR driver, any driver that wants to become OTR and for any new drivers coming in. We hope this shows just how much we appreciate the sacrifices you make.

In addition to the pay increase, effective immediately we want to offer a very unique referral incentive to help get more drivers. We believe we are the first in the trucking industry to have this type of recruiting incentive. We are confident that offering a Referral Incentive makes the most sense because we want to keep it in the family and we want more drivers like each of you! So for every new driver referral that you make, we will pay you $.01 for every mile you drive! There is no limit on the referral pay. If you have 10 referred drivers, thats $.10 per mile extra for every single mile, for as long as you and your referred drivers work for Summerford! Yes, this is BIG! We’re excited to see where this takes all of us. Obviously we hope this makes you go the extra mile to recruit new drivers, but we hope it goes further than that. We hope that you show them what it’s like to be in the Summerford Family and make it a mentoring situation where you want to help the new driver succeed because, after all, you also benefit!

The next step is for you to sign the new Pay Schedule. All drivers need to see Keith in Safety the next time you are in Ashford to sign the new pay schedule. And be sure to tell all referrals to let Scott know that you sent them!
YOU deserve this. Without you there would be no Summerford Truck Line and this is our way of showing that. It has been a rough couple of years for all of us, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
